Amidst the excitement from the Kaijudo Master Challenge events – the Finalists, the winning decks, the prizes – we wanted to let the players know just a bit more about what will happen at the main event in Seattle, WA, this August 2nd – 4th. See below for updated details of this year’s Kaijudo Championship itinerary.
Sheraton Hotel in Seattle, WA.
August 2nd, 3rd and 4th
On Friday, August 2nd we will take on two last-chance qualifiers. Two tournaments open to the public will be hosted at the Sheraton in Seattle, where the winner of each of those tournaments will receive an invitation to play in the Championship. At least eight players will be required for each tournament to begin. If participation levels only allow one tournament to occur, then the top two finalists will be invited to the Championship Tournament on Sunday.
Please also consider the following for the LCQ tournaments:
Saturday, August 3rd, is officially R&D Day! All invitees, including the two last-chance qualifiers, will meet with Kaijudo R&D members in order to share their input on new cards for Kaijudo. Yes, it is an opportunity for players to develop the cards in the game! Players will learn about how Kaijudo is made and will be able to take part in sculpting the future of the game and its story. Meetings run from 9am – 6pm PST at the Sheraton, followed by a dinner for the invitees and Wizards of the Coast staff, and Sealed Play later that evening with R&D and more Wizards employees.
On Sunday, August 4th, the main event begins:
Prizes for the Championships will include iPads, Trophies, Kaijudo Hoodies and more! We’re also excited to have a few familiar faces on hand Sunday to recap all of the action for you later that week, including Thundersultan (aka Carl Reddish) and Ryan Miller. For live updates of the Tournament on Sunday, be sure to follow Andrea’s posts on our Facebook Page and on Twitter!
There are still a few surprises that we can’t tell you about yet – you’ll have to be there to see it for yourself! Good luck in your duels – hope to see you here in Seattle for the Champs!
